When young Kathleen Kohn left her native Minnesota at the age of eighteen, bound for the San Francisco Bay Area, World War II was just beginning. Off to live with her cousin and find work, little did she know that a later introduction to young Merchant Marine Bernard Fetzer would lead to a wartime romance. Their eventual marriage would produce eleven children, and together their family would build one of the largest California dynasties in the wine industry.
